What we collect and why
If you contact us, we collect your contact details, your message, and technical information about your visit and how you found us. We use it to answer you and, where appropriate, to arrange a consultation.
If you book a consultation or complete our patient intake form, we collect your contact details and health information about you and, where you give it, your partner. This is special category health data and we process it to provide healthcare. The intake form saves answers as you go, so part-completed answers are held in the same way as a finished form. You do not have to give us this information, but without it we cannot provide care.
With your consent, we use Google Analytics to measure how the site is used, such as which pages are visited and key interactions. It is not loaded unless you accept analytics cookies, and it never receives your name, your contact details, or anything you typed into a form. We do not use advertising tracking, and we do not sell or share your data with advertisers.
Legal basis for processing
- Provision of healthcare (Article 9(2)(h) GDPR): your clinical data
- Contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR): the services you have asked us for, including appointments and billing
- Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR): medical record-keeping and other obligations on a regulated practice
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR): analytics cookies, and any optional email you tick to receive
Storage and transfers
Your data is held securely, and access is limited to those who need it for their work. Patient records are stored in the European Union. Where any data is processed outside the European Economic Area, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
Data retention
Clinical records (medical history, treatment plans, test results, imaging, and patient correspondence) are retained for 8 years from the last episode of care, in accordance with the Irish Medical Council Guide to Professional Conduct (Para 28.1) and GDPR Article 5(1)(e) storage limitation. After 8 years, records are securely destroyed unless legal obligations require longer retention.
Non-clinical data is held for shorter periods proportionate to its purpose, and deleted when no longer required.
Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and, where we rely on your consent, to withdraw that consent at any time. Erasure is subject to the retention obligations above, and withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before you withdrew.

Who we share your data with
We use service providers to run the clinic and this website, and share your data only as far as they need it:
- IT, hosting, email, and clinical-records providers
- Our analytics provider, Google, and only if you accept analytics cookies
- Our payment processor, PaymentPlus, if you pay online
- Laboratories, imaging providers, and any clinician we refer you to for your care
- Anyone else you have consented to, such as a fertility advisor or a research registry, and anyone the law requires
Marketing
We send health information emails only to people who have ticked the optional box on our patient intake form. Nothing is sent unless you tick it, and you can withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the care you receive.
Automated decisions
No decision about your care is made automatically. Every enquiry sent through this website is read by a person, and clinical decisions are made by our medical team.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission, the Irish supervisory authority: www.dataprotection.ie.

We may update this policy. The date above shows when it was last revised.
