From Patients to Parents
NeoFertility Success Stories

We’ve helped hundreds of couples go from being NeoFertility patients to parents of healthy babies. Read the stories of just a few of our past patients below.

Many conceived successfully with NeoFertility treatment after years of infertility, recurrent miscarriage, or failed IVF.

I started my NeoFertility journey in 2010, weeks before my 40th birthday. I had taken a career break from my job in Galway, moved to London, met Andy and we got married in 2008. I got pregnant almost immediately, but when my “period” didn’t stop I started to worry.  I didn’t even realise I was pregnant and visited my GP, who did a pregnancy test and referred me to the Early Pregnancy Unit at the local hospital.  I went up that evening and had to go back every 48 hours to have my HCG levels checked. They were coming down so it was inevitable I would miscarry. This would become a pattern – positive pregnancy test and then a miscarriage at about 9 weeks, and then up and down to the EPU. I became very well known in that hospital, especially as my veins were so poor, and as soon […]

When I was 18, I got pregnant and it resulted in a miscarriage at 14 weeks. I was told by the doctor at the time, “you’re young, dont worry about it.” No tests for answers, nothing — just a leaflet and sent on my way. From the moment I found out I was pregnant I knew I was meant to be a mammy.  In the years that followed I suffered another 2 miscarriages and still no tests were offered to provide much needed answers. I decided that I was not going to have children and resigned myself to this fact. I went through a grieving process, grieving for the children I had lost, the children I would never have, and the life of a mammy. Then in 2007 I met Mick and we were friends. Friendship turned to love and in 2011 we became a couple. Mick knew my desire […]

I met my husband Brian when I was 33 and we were married when I was 38 in 2011. After the wedding we started trying to have a family. After 6 months, nothing was happening and when it came close to a year, I went to Hollis Street as I was concerned. I was put on Clomid for a few months but still nothing happened and then they performed a HSG to check my tubes. I was advised that they thought they saw what might be a blockage but I was then told it was fine and IVF was recommended. We did not proceed with IVF but continued to try to conceive but nothing was happening.  A friend of mine recommended NeoFertility but I think I was so fed up with the whole process I wasn’t really ready to hear it or to put my energy into something new. Then […]

This journey together began when after 9 years together we got married and started trying for a baby immediately with the trust that everything would be straightforward. But we were soon to discover that this was not to be the case. I like to take a proactive approach to life and not wait for my problems to be solved for me, so at age 31 and after 6 months of trying to conceive, I went to my GP who sent me away for another 6 months reassuring me that it was going to happen and not to worry too much. By our first anniversary, panic had set in and I pleaded with my GP to refer me further which she did, to a local gynaecologist, who after one set of blood tests and a semen analysis swiftly referred us on to an IVF clinic. Day 3 and 21 bloods were […]

Our first appointment was on December 5th 2016. At this time we were actually going through a third miscarriage which had just been confirmed that morning with HCG blood test results from our GP. Our first 2 miscarriages were over the previous 18 months, the first not being discovered until 14 weeks, and the second involved going though numerous scans where they couldn’t make a definite call until 8 weeks when the scan showed we were losing the pregnancy for definite again. We were lucky enough to have a little girl already who was 2 years old and who helped us get through each loss. I was 42 at this stage and very conscious of time passing by.  It was through a friend who had been through a similar experience that we were made aware of NeoFertility and we were lucky enough to get a cancellation appointment that December rather […]

We got married in June 2011. I was 32 and David was 40 therefore we started trying for a baby straight away. I always had regular periods and just assumed that I wouldn’t have any bother getting pregnant. After about a year nothing had happened so I went to my local GP and was then referred to the fertility clinic in our closest hospital. I was placed on the hospital waiting list for SIUI.  In February 2013, before I was called to begin my IUI cycle, I felt very unwell one day. I went to the doctor and it turned out that I was actually pregnant but unfortunately it was ectopic. I was closely monitored by the hospital and I ended up miscarrying naturally at around 8 weeks. I did the SIUI cycle in autumn 2013 and it was unsuccessful. By Christmas 2013 I had fallen pregnant naturally again. I […]

My husband and I were married in 2013 and I gave birth to our first child, Ciara in 2014. Thankfully, the pregnancy went very well. Our problems started soon afterwards. I got pregnant again after Ciara was born but the pregnancy was difficult from the beginning and our second daughter, Catríona was stillborn at 26 weeks in May 2015. To say we were devastated was an understatement. Our hearts were broken and we needed time to heal but we knew we wanted more children. Unfortunately the next four years were wrought with heartbreak again for us as I went on to miscarry four times. Each miscarriage was earlier than the previous one and it was a very difficult time for us. Sometimes the grief felt too much for us to bear but our faith sustained us in our darkest hours.  My GP in Cork was an expert in natural family […]

I had suffered a ruptured ectopic pregnancy prior to our first child, I thought our chances of ever having a baby were severely reduced. Despite this, we got pregnant with our first baby naturally and rather quickly. She was delivered 9 days late by Caesarean section. When she was about 6 months old we decided we would like another baby. Despite years of trying, and month after month of disappointment, this was not happening. I was told about Dr. Boyle and I went to visit him.  He took a detailed history, and did a scan and blood tests. He was very quick to make a diagnosis and put me on medication and referred me to a fertility advisor. The support and “a shoulder to cry on” from my advisor was wonderful. She was there for me to answer any questions or concerns I had. Up to that point I felt […]

We got married in 2013 and hoped to start a family almost straight away. Me being a Paediatric Nurse and Dave being from a family of 11 siblings, there was no question but we were so looking forward to having children. I was diagnosed with PCOS in my teens so I was aware it may not happen immediately but we were very hopeful. After 18 months with no success we made an appointment with NeoFertility. We had heard about Phil Boyle through one of my colleagues at work and the magic he worked for them to have their two beautiful boys.  We arrived at our appointment in May 2013 and were greeted by Linda who was both professional and very welcoming which was heartwarming as inevitabley we didn’t know what to expect. I’ll always remember the hundreds of photos on the walls which I looked at first thinking it would […]

In September 2015 when my husband and I decided to start our family, neither of us for a minute thought we’d have a problem conceiving.  I was 39 and Tim was 47.  9 months passed by and no positive pregnancy test.  Every monthly period brought feelings of disappointment.  Because of our ages we decided to attend an appointment at the IVF clinic.  After all, that’s what every couple who can’t have a baby does, right!  Before we knew it, we had agreed to embark on the road of IVF.  I personally found the process very unkind to my emotional state of mind.  It was draining and the worst of all is that for us, we were not successful.  It was absolutely devastating.   It was suggested that perhaps one of my fallopian tubes might be blocked so our next stop was for me to have a laparoscopy.  During the procedure they […]
